FCI Aliceville’s Captain Kaiser has completely shut down the children’s room during visitation. There is a colorful rug, a doctor’s office for kids to play in, a table-top cube with beads that can be moved around, a stuffed monkey and a baby doll. BUT mothers cannot play with their kids there; it is only for children.
Captain Kaiser states that it is in the program statement that only a quick embrace or kiss is allowed at the beginning and end of visitation. And that allowing us to play with our children in the children’s room would violate the policy.
I understand there is a probably of drugs and contraband being passed but we get stripped searched before and after visits, change into a jumpsuit and slides, then go through a whole body scanner before returning to our units. Isn’t that enough?
