Some of the inmates here were informed by an ACLU lawyer that to be a part of the class action lawsuit it is filing against the DOJ for not complying with the First Step Act, we need a copy of our sentence computation sheet. This document shows in detail our sentence, date of offense, projected release date, home detention/RRC eligibility date and the amount of time we have served on our sentence. So, some of us requested this document staff asked “Why?” When we explained that we needed it for our lawyer, soon after a bulletin was posted stating that no inmate will be allowed to receive a computation sheet. If we want one, “ask your lawyer to get it.”
This is whats going on, but we are supposed to just deal with it. Grievences are trashed and emails are blocked when we reach out for legal assistance.
