Early last year, around January, a friend here was urinating blood. Around April, after getting an MRI for an unrelated issue (spinal problems), they noticed a huge mass in his kidney (17 cm). A month later he was diagnosed with kidney cancer and was told he would be be sent to Butner for cancer treatment. They finally sent him in October of last year. It was apparent they started treatment too late. He died in March of this year.
He had filed for compassionate release, but was turned down. I think he was going home in less than two years, so this is all very devastating to his friends here and his family on the outside.
