This prison is a mix of good and bad.
Infrastructure: The inside units (the older areas from the original Milan) are extremely hot and in need of major repairs. They are in constant need of plumbing repairs and have no ventilation systems (fans only). They are overcrowded and the TV/day rooms have very limited seating. Most people have to either go to the rec yard or stay in the sleeping areas.
Prison politics: Staff just implemented a new seating arrangement in the dining hall: We must all sit in the next available seat; groups no longer may sit together due to too many people being forced to stand or wait for a seat. So, we must sit together regardless of our crime or our geographic origin. (Before, people with sex offense charges were forced to either stand up or wait for a empty seat.) Last week, the heads of the cars were taken to the SHU to help transition into the new seating arrangements.
Lockdowns: We lock down all day every Thursday and some Tuesdays.
SHU: If any drone/drug packs are found, the SOP is to send the entire work crew to the SHU pending investigation.
Supplies: Some weeks we only get one roll per person. Most weeks we get two per person.
Otherwise, this prison runs pretty well
