The AC units in the cells are were probably here when this place was first built. Most of the cells are very hot and have little cool air. We are locked behind the doors to sleep and at count times. The UNICOR building we work in has no air at all. They use a temporary unit outside to blow air in but we sweat all day like animals. I’ve been here over 16 months and it’s always like this. The officers tell us the prison has no money to repair the AC or order parts and they also tell us the AC company the prison deals with refuses to come in because the prison still owes them money and has not paid them.
