I have degenerative joint disease in my knee, following an ACL injury in 2001. After surgery at FMC Fort Worth, I was given a special-order knee brace. Now, it’s shot and here they refuse to replace it. I was scheduled for a consultation in August, but now it’s delayed until next spring. I desperately need a new one but I am being denied. It’s been five months since my last steroid shot, and I can barely walk. I am in 24/7 pain. Two months ago, i went to the hospital and the doctor told me we need to get you back soon to get this taken care of. But they are saying next spring!
I’m also using a catheter to urinate, because of my prostate, and it bleeds a lot. They do not care. I’m falling apart here.
I’ve been trying to get all my medical records for a motion. They gave me my psychology records, but refuse to respond to my request for my medical records. I’m confined to my cell most the day, in pain — adding to my already massive depression. I take psych meds, and I re-ordered them three weeks ago, when I ran out. But I don’t have them yet, and detoxing off of Effexor is completely ruining my self esteem.
Filing a grievance here does no good. BP-8s get thrown away and ignored. When I have filed, a cop hit my cell with an intention to get me sent to the SHU.
