Prison Pulse Report

A special unit was created here for older inmates, and they did move about 180 over to Unit A. But they left a lot of young inmates there, and the older people even has to cell with them. Plus, the cells aren’t equipped with handrails, etc. for the bunk beds and toilets, so there really is on difference. It’s a total waste of the $6 million I hear was allocated for creation of these units. Staff even are abusive to the older people.

Meanwhile, there is a long wait list for the MAT program, yet anyone who is caught using Suboxone on their own to try to get by is written up and sent to the SHU.

And the food? We were supposed to have fried rice with chicken the other day, and instead they served it with fried expired bologna. The BOP had closed all of the officer mess halls so staff would have to eat the food we do. But during the government shutdown they have opened it up again here.
