On October the 8, I tried to add activist and media personality Pam Bailey to my Trulincs account, because I wanted to tell her about how SIS Lt. Falconer ar USP Tucson (where I was incarcerated previously) threatened people who signed up to talk to her. The next thing I know, I was escorted to the lieutenant’s office. The pretext: I had reported a staff member to the NC Board of Nursing for fraud, deceit and incompetence. They wrote me up with a fictitious charge of attempting to extort/blackmail them based upon my statement of intent to sue the staff member So, on Oct. 9, I was locked up in a secure mental health unit (SMHU).
Eight days later, on Oct. 17, a lieutenant used excessive force on me, breaking my right arm and hand, and then put me in restraints for over 10 hours while I was completely naked. Then he wrote me up again, this time on a fabricated charge of being “assaultive.” Yet he refused to explain exactly what that meant at the subsequent disciplinary hearing. (By that point, he knew the camera footage would be his worst nightmare). Several weeks of hell ensued, ranging from sexual harassment by a captain who threatened to take away my halfway house date to a bunch of miserable cell searches to a digital rectal cavity search (which, in my opinion, is legalized rape).
They ended up keeping me in the SHU until Dec. 18, at which point all 364 days awarded to me for halfway house were stripped from me on the basis of (1) the disciplinary charges I was acquitted of and (2) my mental health care level and (I required multiple suicide risk assessments during my prolonged period in isolation; the BOP knows I never do well mentally or emotionally in isolation, which is why it kept me there).
Nothing is left of my property except but some legal papers and a hair brush. I have no money, I had to ask friends and my mom for a few dollars to be able to buy some soap and sweats to wear (it’s very cold here!). From October 9-18, the BOP froze all of my funds under “investigation hold,” so I couldn’t email or call anyone!
