Prison Pulse Report

Last weekend, I was waiting to visit my family in the holding room. However, because I have severe PTSD from being locked in a cell for 626 days and witnessing three murders and multiple stabbings, I was in a state of shock. After all, I am about to enter a room with real live people and children running around. I have been locked up for 16 years now, eight of those in violent USPs. I didn’t know how I was supposed to act. I needed to take a deep breath. Then, all of a sudden the officer started to yell at me, telling me in a very rude manner to pay attention! Later he yelled at me again to hurry up, even though I am 68 years old with chronic injuries. He ruined my visit, I never want another now.

Most staff are friendly and polite, but a few are bad. Training will not work I have learned because either you are good or not; training does not change a person. If there could be a test during training to determine if officer has anger problems, this would weed out the bad.
