They are doing something new in Medical. They put us on a call out for RN#1, RN#2 or a PA, but when you get there, you find out it s for a surprise drug test for the MAT program. If they fail, they are kicked out of the MAT program temporarily and refused their medication for several days. Is placing us on a callout to see medical staff, who we never see, falsifying a government document? I wonder if Washington is being told that all of these people are receiving medical treatment when they are not.
Treating people like this will eventually lead to something bad. They almost started a riot one time when they refused us commissary for a month because someone in the unit had to to go the SHU and it was allegedly full. For example, three units are on “pending SHU” lockdown status right now and there are commissary workers in those units. Because they would only let three commissary employees to go to work, only one and a half units could go to shop. (The prison staff in the commissary refuse to do any actual work,) At the same time, though, the administration makes sure they let out all of the kitchen workers go to work. If inmates are doing a job that a staff member would have to do, then they let them go to work every day no matter what the situation is.
This kind of treatment is eventually going to cause a riot. They will continue to play games with all of us until a gang member sticks a knife in a staff member’s neck. And they they will say, “See, you can’t let these people out of prison; the First Step Act is bad.” But’s really because they make people go for a month without soap or over-the-counter medicine, or make it so they can’t call their family.
Everyone knows that the SHU is not really full. Everyone knows that the warden is just doing this to play games with everyone. The administration knows they are not going to make the K2 dealers stop selling, because they all have enough commissary items to last three months in their cells. And it’s a fact that staff members are bringing K2 in here and are laughing about what they are causing to happen.
Update: They just announced over the intercom that we all are limited to spending $50 at commissary. That’s more mass punishment because this warden is not capable of doing his job and keeping the K2 from coming into his prison. He has no control over the staff and he has no control over the inmates.
