Prison Pulse Report

They continue to find ways and reasons to lock us down and cut short our recreation time.  A duress button goes off and they run to the SHU, which has nothing to do with general population, yet we get locked down for a couple hours. One time, they locked us down and continued to run visits.  Of course I want guys to get their visits, but if they can run visitation, the unit could be out of the cells in the day area at least. Instead, we were locked down all morning from 7:14 a.m. to after count at 11, then locked in the cells again at 3:15 p.m. for another count. We were let out at 4:30 to get dinner from the kitchen and walk back to the unit. That is called a “walk-and-carry.” We don’t eat dinner in the kitchen area, but back in the unit. We’re locked into the cells at 5:45 pm.

And then, last week they locked us in for a snow count, when there was just two inches of snow!

Just today, lunch was called for every B-side unit at once, so we had to stand outside in the cold, waiting to eat. Before the line could go down or get into the door, they called the A-side units.  It’s like they’re trying to cause incidents to happen and lock this place down again. Guys don’t wanna stand outside in the cold, so they will jump the line and people are going to be upset about it. Plus, the tables don’t have enough seats for everyone. So, guess what will happen?

The other night, a guy hit his duress button around 7 p.m. and the officer didn’t respond until 45 minutes later because there’s only one staff person working, on the other side.  Someone is going to have a serious problem and not receive the help needed,

They get away with treating us like cattle, and when I complain, I am retaliated against. I am still being mistreated by staff at commissary for filing a complaint when they shorted me $18.
