Prison Pulse Report

The warden and captain have established a “good ol’ boys” clique here…grooming the young white male officers to be aggressive toward us, with profanity and  threats. When a person goes to the outside hospital (overnight), the unit officer is told to pack our property and store it until we return. But the officers tend to not pack all of our belongings. Instead, they throw away much of it (especially anything open…whether it be soap, deodorant, lotion, a bag of chips, a box of sugar, a bag of coffee, etc.). They also throw away and/or leave unpacked some personal clothing items, as well as reading material (which then disappears).

The warden has been heard to say, “You all are living too comfortably here.” But this is a medical center, where people are trying to heal; we do not need any unnecessary STRESS. It’s them who are “too comfortable.” The warden bought an ice cream machine for him and his staff, along with a flat screen TV, They are always having officer appreciation days (paid for by the inmate trust fund). Yet every department claims that they do not have a budget to purchase things that we need. They also order food like shrimp, octopus, pizza, etc. for themselves. I know this from the guys who work in culinary arts. They prepare those meals for the staff.
