i was in the Challenge unit with this guy named Rasheed Young. He came busting out of his cell after pressing his distress button. Me and four other inmates rushed to try to help him as we took him to the officer’s office. Young kept waving his hands to indicate that he couldn’t breathe, so someone ran to his room and grabbed his asthma inhaler. He tried spraying it in his mouth and I tried to help. Note that Young had a stroke in the past and had no use or feeling in his left side. The officers called Medical for help, but I don’t know if they reported that the inmate in distress was Young. He had been going to Medical damn near the whole week for similar symptoms, but they always sent him away. Then they came in the unit with the stretcher and placed him on it and we told them to raise it up to a sitting position because he can’t breathe. They did so and took him out of the unit. All we know is that he later died.
