Robert Jeter died at Arrowhead Regional Medical Center. A doctor at the hospital told his mother that her son appeared to have “trauma to the brain so severe that his brain had swollen and hemorrhaged” and that he was “beaten so severely that his liver was, you know, split.” (The San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department coroner ruled Jeter's death "undetermined.")
