Prison Pulse Report

From the co-founder of MTOC, Pam Bailey: Christopher Cobb wrote an essay for our website about why people take the risk of getting a cellphone in prison (via smuggling). One day later, I was blocked from communicating with Christopher via that email address, along with everyone else at FCI Atlanta who used that email.

Right after your email was blocked, my unit counselor (Mr. Stevenson) came to my cell and strip searched me. He is clearly looking for something (probably a cellphone?). I don’t have anything like that. He was clearly not doing a “random” search. I asked him about your banned email then and he admitted the article was a factor. I want to file a grievance about the strip search, but he and my unit manager, Mr. Holmes, are insisting that before they give me the proper form, I first speak with Lt. Givens. (The lt.. is the shift commander for the Special Investigative Services department, the local “FBI.” It is their job to investigate snitch tips, criminal activity by both inmates and staff, and monitor prisoner communications.) Yet Lt Givens keeps ducking me instead of being at “mainline” (this is holding up the process and thus forcing me to miss the 20-day time limit for filing.
