Prison Pulse Report

A guy named Doug Phillips died yesterday. He was healthy and vibrant until the last 30-60 days. His friend Kevin Viser says, “I talked to him every morning. I worked right beside him for years and he was always on the go; he was never a problem person. He was very humble; he just wanted to work and stay busy.”

He then started having trouble breathing and talking, and lost all motor function in his legs and arms. He couldn’t even stand up to use the bathroom or shower. Other inmates had to wash him in the shower and even help him pull his pants down to use the toilet. If they would have given him an x-ray when he first was injured, instead of two weeks later, I think he’d be alive. Instead, they just put him in a wheelchair for 11 days. When he finally got the x-ray (after being made to wait for two hours, until they finished pill line), they called an ambulance for him but it was too late. If Medical acted like this in the world, they’d face legal charges for wrongful death. (It is reported that Health Services staff were making fun of Old Doug, laughing saying that he was faking!) He was 63 years old.
