My cluster migraines finally stopped about five days ago after a solid 14 days of rocking-n-rolling in my head. I was blessed with so many staff members (about 10 or more) who were truly concerned and did more than they were technically allowed to do to advocate on my behalf. The problem was this: Medical placed me on a 30-day medication regimen for my headaches on July 17, but the pills kept me up for eights days straight. I mean, no sleep at all and full of energy; even the roadrunner wouldn’t have been able to catch up with me. After four days, that eased up, but then agitation, irritation, dizziness and bad balance set in. I went back to the hospital and found out that I was supposed to have been given a blood pressure medication too, since the headache regimen elevates blood pressure. Ok, that was added. But then a few days later, other problems developed. Then I was told I should have taken the blood pressure med with food! My racing energy came back, and that’s when they gold me I should take the headache med very early in the morning so I would be able to sleep by the end of the day. Why didn’t they tell me all this at the beginning???
