I’ve been in three of the oldest prisons in the United States, and this place is by far the nastiest I’ve ever seen. The plumbing leaks! For example, when a toilet leaks in the unit above ours, piss leaks down into ours. Same with the urinals and showers. You cannot walk from one end of the bathroom to the other without getting dripped on. There are actual holes in the tile floor in the units above.
Word has it that the OIG is coming to inspect us here. So, staff are working on the plumbing all weekend long to patch the holes and leaks we have been complaining about for a year. People are pressure washing, painting, etc. But its just a cover up for a few days.
