At first, this place seemed all right. But now that I have been here almost a month, that perception is changing. They took me off of my three 800 mg ibuprofen tablets a day, and instead gave me a nerve/psychotropic pill, which does not work for my pain. (The ibuprofen doesn’t fully work either, but at least it’s something.) They also drew blood three times, took an x-ray and ordered all kinds of tests. They didn’t realize their mistake until four days later, when they admitted they had overlooked all the psychotropic meds I was already on. So, finally they are putting me in for a pain med and referring me to the pain management doctor.
I have osteomylitis/MRSA in the hip. The infection has eaten so much of it away that I’ve been in a wheelchair since 2023. I also have end-stage bone arthritis. Because the infection was not treated when it first developed at USP Lee, it has totally eaten away my hip, making a hip replacement questionable. Plus, the infection is still present. Also my lawsuit is moving forward, slowly but it is moving forward.
On Oct. 25, an 80-year-old died after he fell and hit his head earlier in the day. Yet all they did was bandage his head; they didn’t send him to the hospital. When they saw that he was unresponsive at 9:26 p.m., they worked on him until 9:51 p.m. They ran out of supplies on the crash cart and ran around like chicken with their heads cut off trying to find what they needed in the nurses’ station.
