We were on lockdown over 200 days of this year! So, doing legal work, meeting deadlines, getting mail…yeah, it’s all a huge challenge. They say we are on “modified” lockdowns, but we’re denied access to programs, laundry, BOP-menu warm meals, showers, contact with our loved ones and fresh air. “Modified” here means we don’t come out of our cells – period. Usually modified permits three showers a week, but I’ve gone up to eight days on modified without a shower. The kitchen workers still go to work, but the cops make them give out smaller portions, and we don’t receive what the BOP menu calls for. The food is served cold to our door. One time in October 2025, we went five weeks without even getting commissary and we were all out of soap and toothpaste. So, they finally let us shop.
We also are locked down at 5:45 p.m. every day. When the SHU is full, we get locked down for two weeks until another bus comes and they transfer people out of the SHU.
