Administration brought in another bus load of inmates. According to staff, the institution is supposed to be
getting its numbers down to around 650 or so, But they are at almost 900. They can barely feed us; they ran out
of food last night. Three weeks ago, they shipped 40 people out even though this was their home region; they never told them why or where they were going. Then they brought 40 more in and now another 40. Why would they do that? For the money?
We were on modified lockdown today and will be all of next week. Staff say that seven days out of the month we are to be on modified lockdown, because they have no money to pay overtime. When the lockdown is over, all the officers must work a 16-hour shift; even the education officers volunteer to work overtime. We are down to three case managers for five units, and they are running short on pads, tampons, etc.
