Prison Pulse Report

A petition on Change.org states that inmates at FCI Miami Low/Camp are suffering from:

  • Improper searches and confiscation of essential items. Inmates report that hygiene items and personal belongings are  confiscated during searches without just cause.
  • Unjustified lockdowns. Extended lockdowns lasting months have been implemented, denying inmates regular access to the commissary, recreation and family communication.
  • Insufficient access to food: In addition to the confiscation of items, limited access to commissary services is leaving inmates without the ability to supplement the meager food provided by the prison, fostering an environment of deprivation.
  • Mistreatment of inmates by staff. Some staff members, particularly Officer Andino, fabricate infractions and treat inmates with disrespect and hostility.
  • Neglect of visitation standards. Vending machines in the visitation area have been empty for months, undermining the comfort of family members and other loved ones during visits.
  • Non-responsive administration: Messages to the warden and the regional office about these concerns have gone unanswered, leaving families and inmates without recourse.
  • Noncompliance with BOP national menu standards. The food quality is alarmingly poor and lacks essential nutrients.

Inmates and their families deserve transparency, accountability, and respect.
