Prison Pulse Report

We have many problems with medical care. Staff are retaliating against me after I filed a formal complaint to the DOJ for discriminating against me for my disability, opioid-use disorder. I was denied entrance into the MAT program because I am too far from release (here, you have to be 90 days from the door, and I’m serving 45 years). However, others with a lot of time have been accepted into the program. I filed grievances, and now have requested an administrative hearing based on equal opportunity law.

I also have Hepatitis C was on Epclusa when I arrived at Victorville. But staff took me off of it before my course was complete. I was told by the doctor in South Dakota that I need to take all 84 doses, but Victorville pulled me off three weeks early. They said I don’t have Hepatitis, but then i went to the hospital for a liver flare-up (acute sepsis and jaundice) and the doctor ordered them to put me back on the treatment. As of today, that has not happened.

We don’t get follow-up care here, especially for chronic conditions. When we’ree locked down, we get NO care whatsoever, and we ar locked down more often than not. They are extremely short staffed.
