The water was “treated” (softened) with salt on Monday and Tuesday. If you leave a cup to sit overnight, the brine is thick and covers the bottom. A friend once told me the number of pounds of salt added, and it ranged from 40 to 60! I used to live on a farm, and I can tell you this is not the right way to soften water. There should be no visible salt and calcium buildups. Plus add in the dark debris from the old, galvanized pipes. Those with high blood pressure, renal problems, etc. are exposed to excessive amounts of salt. No wonder blood pressure readings here are very high for weeks and then drops up/down as the concentration of the salt goes up/down.
