During two shakedowns earlier this year, staff threw away all of my personal papers (a diary of years of projects and thoughts for my future), photos and legal documents. In response to my tort claim, the warden’s office claimed they gave the prison population an opportunity to mail these things home, but that was an outright lie.
Also, recently, we have been served months-old cereal.
