Prison Pulse Report

We were on lockdown; they’ve been locking the program units down along with general population, although the AW for programs had promised we wouldn’t be. On July 31, we went on lockdown due to inmates in two housing units who were using K2 and having other issues. We didn’t come out until Aug. 5. The day before, they pulled everyone from their cells around lunch time, supposedly to search for weapons. But when I returned to my cell, I discovered my prayer rug in the toilet. In addition, several items were gone my watch], a 15-flat book of stamps, 13 packs of mackerel and 12 packs of trail mix. My two pairs of reading glasses were broken in half and the word “nigger” was scrawled on my Nation of Islam newspaper. Inside was written “file on that nigger!” and on the back page a rope was drawn around the Minister Louis Farrakhan’s neck. I am filing a tort claim.

I doubt they are reporting these unwarranted lockdowns to the central office. The phone and computer records will show that we are not out of our cells much at all. Prisoners’ family members will call here and told that the prison is open, but when they arrive, they are turned around.
