I’ve been incarcerated since 10/6/22 and i have a release date of 7/2/2029. I’m From Virginia, which is about 898 miles away from my residence. My wife has been denied visitation me because she was arrested in 2022 for possession of cocaine. The warden says she can’t have been arrested in the previous 10 years. I even asked to have a visit behind glass but was denied that too. This has put a strain on my marriage. I’ve filed all the way to central office but was denied because it was up to the warden’s discretion.
In addition, I’m currently on dialysis and I have treatment every Monday, Wednesday and Friday. For a whole year, other inmates and I have not received the proper renal diet. I wrote that up and my remedy process was denied. They said they didn’t have the budget to give us double protein!
I have had multiple surgeries to have a fistula put in my arm and it was a failure. The first one failed because an officer put handcuffs and a blackbox over the surgical site despite the surgeon’s order not to put anything over it. The second failure happened when I asked for a graft but was still given a fistula against my wishes. It doesn’t work at all and I have to receive dialysis through a catheter.
