They are now putting three people in a single cell that only meets the requirements for a maximum of two people. There is a square-footage requirement, and I do not have the statute right now, but I know that these cells can only hold two people; that is why they stopped putting three people per cell like they did before. Two people is already a tight fit for these tiny cells, and having three people is going to mean squalor. But, as you know, the prison gets $ for each inmate who is here (approximately $49,000/year).
