Prison Pulse Report

When I was 6 years old, I jumped off a garage roof, and fell 15 feet head first. I compressed my spine and blew out both of my collar bones. I have degenerative disk disease throughout my entire spine, which now has a permanent curve in it. The pain is bad. I have been approved for an MRI a couple times during my 15 years of incarceration, but have yet to receive one. My case worker told me he would put me in for a transfer if agreed to a lift of my medical hold. I did, but I wrote on the paperwork “only in order to transfer.” But I’ve never gotten the MRI. The specialist I was seeing said that the x-rays show my back is changing for the worse. Almost three years ago, the last time I was able to see him, he said I would wake up paralyzed one day if I didn’t get surgery soon. (He retired after that, and hey good away the medication he’d been prescribing.) Now I am forced to live with the pain and lack of sleep it causes. It interfears with my everydqay functioning. Some days it hurts so bad I have trouble walking. My muscles are coiled so tight. The longer I have to wait for treatment, the worse I get and feel.
